Projects

I am currently participating in a 15-month project (June 2018 – September 2019) entitled “Automated Analysis and Processing of Legal Documents for their Transformation into Open Legal Data”, which is funded under the Call 34 “Supporting researchers with emphasis on young researchers” and aims for the collection and automated analysis of available Greek legal texts and their representation in an Open Data Format (e.g. Akoma Ntoso).

During my career path I have participated in the following projects:

  • Central Repository of Greek Open Courses: Design and development of communication and collaboration tools – messaging, blogs, wiki, forums – for the open source platform Open eClass
  • Advanced Systems and Services for Wireless Mobile Networks: The objective of this research was to contribute to the development and adoption of a unified framework for understanding the above systems in both research and practical level. To achieve this goal we considered theoretical models that have the key attributes that characterize large networks consisting of many small, limited in terms of resources, devices that can interact with each other and with other systems. The research aimed at formulating a comprehensive picture of the capabilities of distributed systems through the systematic study of theoretical models and utilization of their special characteristics.
  • Open Discovery Space: Participation in the implementation of the social features of the innovation platform for the adoption of e-learning resources.
  • Implementation of the website of the project “Life+Condense: The Condense Managing System: Production of Novel Fertilizers from Manure & Olive Mill Wastewater”.
  • Implementation of the website of the Penteli General Hospital for Children.
  • TINIS INTERREG IIIC: The global objective of the TINIS project was to promote the development of structures enhancing technological innovation in the ICT sector. Innovation in general (and technological innovation in particular) is considered within Europe as a key factor for economic development.
  • Prof-ELP: Prof-ELP proposed the development of an innovative ELP that would contribute to EU workers Employability by the improvement of their professional foreign language skills.
  • e-Medit: The project promoted support and training services in the ICT sector for regional authorities (telecommunications regulation institutes, ministries, telecommunications operators and related organizations and universities). The specific objectives of the project were a) to provide a working framework for Eastern Mediterranean, in the direction of convergence of new ICTs, b) the promotion and support of services and training for Regional and Local authorities, regarding issues related to new ICTs, with an emphasis on equal opportunities and c) the exchange of experience on development and integration of new ICTs to address the “Digital Exclusion” in Eastern Mediterranean.
